(hu)Man in a horizon – Waveland originates from the idea that horizons, landscapes bordering water resemble (audio)waves. Waves that reflect and mirror landscapes.
An investigation into the direct translation of naturally mirrored horizons into audio waves that are then played purely with the image of these landscapes.
The procedure proceeds in this order:
- A photograph of a horizon(tal) landscape adjacent to water is chosen,
- The landscape and reflection in the water are carved out and preserved.
- The remaining image is read as an audio wave from left to right, scanned, and the raw audio obtained is simultaneously played in the headphones.
